We are pleased to announce that, effective on 30 September 2021, the company’s name will change from ‘Davis & Musgrove Ltd’ to ‘Oxford Sigma.’ The new company name reflects our heritage, growth, and commitment to scientific and engineering advancement.
‘Since starting the company in 2019, our growth and activities represent a unique synergy that is now epitomised with the name Oxford Sigma. Aligning the assets and capabilities of our team with our redesigned brand architecture is an exciting prospect as we lead the company towards bright times ahead.’
~ Jonathan Musgrove, CEO, Oxford Sigma
‘After expanding operations to the USA, Canada, and Europe, it is important that our redesigned brand architecture encapsulates both what we do as a company as well as the genesis of our company roots. Oxford Sigma will serve us well in this capacity as we move forward.’
~ Dr Thomas P. Davis, President and CTO, Oxford Sigma.
Our new name pays homage to both Oxfordshire and to our direction as a company. We are proud of our heritage both at the University of Oxford, where the company was founded whilst Co-founder Dr Thomas P. Davis was completing his PhD in the Department of Materials, and at our company base in Harwell Campus, Oxfordshire. The Greek letter σ (sigma) encapsulates the nature of our activities in research, development, and commercialisation of advanced nuclear and fusion energy concepts.
The company’s new website is now available at www.oxfordsigma.com and showcases our asset base as we begin this new chapter.
Oxford Sigma develops novel technologies for fusion energy, holds expertise in advanced nuclear energy, and supports the defence industry. We also provide technical and regulatory-based consultancy. We are expanding at a fast pace in the energy and defence sectors. Through collaboration with industry, academia, and government, the company has expanded into patent and product development in fusion technology, as well as expanding its services into defence & energy strategy.
